Privacy Policy — Koko: Debt Tracker with Alarm

Koko: Debt Tracker with Alarm ("Koko", "the app", "we") is a payment and debt reminder app. This policy explains what data the app handles.

Data we collect

By default, none. All information you enter — payment names, amounts, due dates, notes, images, and history — is stored locally on your device. Without an account, we cannot see your data.

Optional cloud account

Some features are optional and require a free account, created with your email address (verified by a one-time code — no password is stored). If you use them, the following is stored on our servers (hosted on Supabase):

Cloud sync & backup: a copy of your app data (payments, income, settings) so it can be restored on your devices.
Household sharing (Couple/Family plans): the debts you choose to share and their payment history — including names, amounts, due dates, who added them, and who paid — plus your display name. This shared data is visible to the members of your household; that is the point of the feature.
Referral program: your referral code and basic activity needed to grant rewards.

You can use the entire core app — tracking, alarms, analytics — without ever creating an account.

Notifications

The app schedules local notifications on your device to remind you of due dates. These are generated on-device and are not sent to any server.

Photos

If you add an image or receipt to a payment, it is copied into the app's private storage on your device. Custom photos are not uploaded — shared household debts show only built-in icons on other members' devices.

Purchases (if you buy Premium)

Purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store, and entitlement status is managed by our billing provider (RevenueCat). This may include a purchase identifier and plan state. We never receive your card details. See:

Crash reporting

The app sends anonymous crash diagnostics (device model, OS version, error details) to Sentry (sentry.io/privacy) so we can fix bugs. Crash reports do not include your financial data.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers that make the app work — Supabase (cloud storage), RevenueCat (billing), Sentry (crash reports), and Google Play / Apple (purchases) — and only what each strictly needs.

Data deletion

In the app: go to Account → Delete my account to permanently delete your account and all cloud data (synced backups, household membership, referral history). This works entirely in-app and takes effect immediately.
Local data: uninstalling the app permanently deletes everything stored on your device.
Cloud data: leaving a household removes your access to its shared data, and disbanding a household deletes its shared data.

Product updates by email

Account holders may occasionally receive product news and tips at the email they signed in with. You can opt out at any time — every such email includes an unsubscribe link.

Children

The app is a general finance utility and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change accordingly.
